In the heart of Madison County, Georgia stands a charming house from the late 1800’s, recently rescued from demolition. This historic gem has found a new purpose as a guest house for the “Ila farmhouse",” breathing new life into its storied walls.
the house was carefully relocated just 10 minutes up the road from its original site, preserving its connection to the local area while giving it a fresh start.
Originally part of a sprawling property that served as a weekend “entertainment” center for Atlanta’s elite, this house witnessed the comics and goings of city dwellers who arrived by train to enjoy rural Georgia’s charms.
The house boasts original, unpainted headboard walls and heart pine floors. speaking to the craftsmanship of a bygone era. These authentic features, along with other unique characteristics, imbue the space with undeniable character and historical significance.
This house is one of three structures being saved from the original property, representing a significant effort to preserve the architectural heritage of Madison County.
