Hello, and welcome to the Saving Time Design blog!! We’re Joel & Sherry Pellegrino, and we’re on a mission to save America’s historic homes and buildings, one structure at a time.
You might be wondering, “What exactly does Saving Time Design do?” Well, imagine a beautiful old farmhouse, full of character and stories, slated for demolition to make way for new development. That’s where we come in. We quite literally save these homes by relocating them to new plots of land and lovingly restore them to their former glory with modern amenities.
Our journey began when we realized how many incredible historic homes were being lost forever. Each demolished building meant the erasure of a piece of our shared history and craftsmanship that simply can’t be replicated today. We knew we had to do something.
So, we started Saving Time Design, Inc. with a simple yet ambitious goal to preserve as may old homes and structures from demolition as possible. We search for these at-risk properties, find them new homes, and then roll up our sleeves to bring them back to life.
But, we don’t just restore these homes-we find them new loving owners who appreciate their history and character. There’s something magical about matching the right home to the right family, knowing that these walls will once again ring with laughter and new memories.
Our process involves a mix of historical research, architectural know-how, and good old fashioned elbow grease. From sourcing period-appropriate materials to navigating the complexities of moving entire buildings, every day brings new challenges and rewards.
We’re not just in the business of saving buildings; we’re in the business of preserving stories, craftsmanship and the unique character of our communities. Every creaky floorboard, every hand carved banister, every wavy glass window pane tells a story of the people who came before us.
